The panchayat election atmosphere in Telangana continues to intensify as polling approaches. In a strategic political move, former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has begun engaging with newly elected local representatives. He invited unanimously elected sarpanches from various villages to his farmhouse and felicitated the sarpanches and ward members of Erravelli and Narsannapeta in the Gajwel constituency.

Sources indicate that KCR reviewed the election trends at the village level and expressed confidence that his party would return to power. He advised representatives not to be disheartened during difficult phases, adding that “not every period will be favourable” and assuring that better days for villages will return soon. He also cautioned the public against trusting the promises made by the Congress.

Meanwhile, sarpanch elections in Telangana will be conducted in three phases on December 11, 14 and 17. Election symbols have already been allotted to candidates contesting for sarpanch and ward member posts. Several villages are opting for unanimous selection of sarpanches through bidding processes, and many of those elected unopposed say the funds collected during the process will be utilized for the development of their respective villages.
