Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in India and was personally welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Putin is widely known for maintaining strict fitness and dietary discipline, which is believed to be a key reason he remains highly energetic even at the age of 73. He has previously spoken about his eating habits, noting that he rarely finds enough time for meals. His day typically begins with a late breakfast that includes porridge made from rice or buckwheat rather than oats, along with fresh cottage cheese, a raw egg, honey and juices such as radish or beetroot.
For lunch, Putin opts for very light food, mainly fresh vegetables like cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes, and reports suggest he often skips dinner. In non-vegetarian choices, he prefers fish over red meat and particularly enjoys sturgeon and salmon, although he also likes lamb. He occasionally eats ice cream but avoids sweets and fried or oily foods.
A major highlight of Putin’s travel routine is the intense security surrounding his food and health. A mobile laboratory accompanies him everywhere to test every food item before he consumes it. During foreign tours, he does not eat food sourced from local hotels; instead, chefs, utensils and ingredients are brought from Russia, often ahead of his arrival. Additionally, to prevent foreign intelligence agencies from gathering medical information, his biological waste is collected in sealed packets and carried back to Russia by his security personnel.
