Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in New Delhi on Thursday as part of his official visit to India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed him with full honours upon his arrival at Palam Airport.
Putin and Modi will take part in the India–Russia Annual Summit scheduled for Thursday and Friday. The summit is expected to see the signing of several significant agreements between the two nations. Key Memorandums of Understanding are likely in the areas of trade, economy, healthcare, academics, cultural exchange, and media cooperation.
Sources indicate that major agreements in the defence sector will also be concluded during the summit. As part of the diplomatic itinerary, President Droupadi Murmu will host a ceremonial reception for President Putin at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
