The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has issued notices to Tollywood’s prominent studios—Annapurna Studios and Ramanaidu Studios—owned by senior actors Nagarjuna and Venkatesh, respectively. Officials stated that both establishments have been underpaying their mandatory trade licence fees despite operating on large commercial premises in the city.

According to GHMC Circle 18 authorities, the studios allegedly misreported their business floor area, resulting in substantial tax evasion. Assessments revealed that Annapurna Studios should be paying Rs 11.52 lakh annually but has been remitting only Rs 49,000, while Ramanaidu Studios, liable to pay Rs 1.92 lakh, has reportedly paid just Rs 1,900. Citing these discrepancies, GHMC has directed both studios to pay the full trade licence fee and comply with municipal regulations.
