The results of the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency by-election in Telangana are set to be announced today. The by-poll was necessitated by the untimely death of former MLA Maganti Gopinath. With the outcome expected to decide the fate of candidates from major parties, political tension is running high across the state.
Polling, held on November 11, saw voters choosing among candidates primarily from BRS, Congress, and BJP, making it a closely watched three-way contest. Victory in the constituency is considered a matter of prestige, and senior party leaders have expressed confidence in their respective candidates.
The counting of votes will take place at Kotla Vijayabhaskara Reddy Stadium in Hyderabad, with authorities ensuring a transparent and peaceful process. A total of 42 counting tables have been set up to cover 407 polling centers, with results to be tallied in 10 rounds. Each round is expected to take approximately 40 minutes, with the final outcome likely by around 2 PM, according to the district election officer.
A total of 186 personnel have been deployed to manage the counting process, supported by strict security measures and CCTV monitoring at each table. Updates will be provided via LED screens and the EC app. Access to the counting center is restricted to candidates, their authorized representatives, and permitted counting agents. Section 144 has been imposed around the venue to prevent any untoward incidents, with the CEO warning of strict action against violations.
