Sriharikota, Nov 2: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch its LVM3-M5 rocket today at 5:26 p.m. from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR) in Sriharikota. The 24-hour countdown began yesterday, and all pre-launch procedures, including the fueling of hydrogen and helium, have been successfully completed.
The mission aims to place the 4,410-kg CMS-03 communication satellite into the Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO). The satellite will enhance India’s communication network and aid in monitoring oceanic and atmospheric conditions. The launch will take place from the second launch pad, with ISRO Chairman S. Narayanan personally overseeing the countdown operations.
Ahead of the launch, Chairman Narayanan, SHAR Director V.S. Padmakumar, and several ISRO scientists visited the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple to seek divine blessings for the mission’s success. Narayanan told the media that all preparations had been completed and expressed confidence in the success of the LVM3-M5 mission.
