Hyderabad: BRS MLC K. Kavitha triggered a political storm with her sharp remarks against former minister and MLA Harish Rao and ex-MP Santosh Kumar. She alleged that both leaders were behind large-scale corruption in the Kaleshwaram project, which, she claimed, sullied the image of her father and former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). Breaking down in tears during a press meet, she said their actions had led to a CBI probe into KCR, insisting that her father never chased wealth and always worked for people’s welfare.
Kavitha went further to allege that Harish Rao and Santosh Kumar had colluded with current CM Revanth Reddy, which she said explained why the Congress government was targeting KCR while sparing them. Her remarks have reportedly left KCR upset, with speculation that the party high command is weighing suspension to prevent further political damage. Sources indicate that discussions at Erravalli farmhouse are centered on this issue, with several senior leaders pressing KCR to take swift action.
Amid these developments, political circles are abuzz with talk that Kavitha may soon launch her own party under the banner of Telangana Jagruthi, with reports suggesting registration is already complete. Observers say she could make the announcement immediately after any suspension. Meanwhile, the BRS closed ranks around Harish Rao, amplifying support through the “Aaradugula Bullet” campaign on social media and removing Kavitha’s PRO from party media groups, signaling her growing isolation.
