Jammu: Tension prevailed along the Pakistan border in Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday following an encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Kishtwar’s Chhatru area. The exchange of fire broke out during a joint anti-terror operation.
According to initial assessments by security officials, three Terrorists belonging to the proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed in the encounter. The operation involved personnel from the Indian Army, Jammu & Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
Search operations are still underway in the area to track down any remaining militants and recover weapons or evidence.
