Hyderabad: Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh has tendered his resignation from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging internal sabotage and undemocratic practices within the party’s Telangana unit. In a dramatic announcement, he said he had submitted his resignation letter to BJP state president G. Kishan Reddy and requested that it be forwarded to the Speaker.

Raja Singh accused certain leaders within the party of deliberately stalling its growth in the state. “I gave my resignation letter to Kishan Reddy and asked him to submit it to the Speaker. Those who supported me were threatened. Three council members had signed in my support,” he said.

Taking aim at the selection process for the Telangana BJP president, he remarked, “It appears that the decision on who will be the next president has already been made at the top level. The number of people who don’t want BJP to grow in Telangana is increasing.”

He further criticised the central leadership’s alleged imposition of state leadership. “The BJP president should be elected through a proper voting process—from booth-level workers to senior leaders—not appointed arbitrarily. If this continues, the party will suffer severe damage in Telangana,” he warned, adding that conducting internal elections is essential if the BJP hopes to come to power in the state.
