Telangana Cabinet Approves 10 Key Decisions

Hyderabad: The Telangana Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, met on Monday and approved 10 significant decisions aimed at strengthening welfare schemes, boosting infrastructure development, and advancing administrative reforms.

1. ‘Rythu Nestham’ Event at Secretariat Today
To mark the successful disbursement of ₹9,000 crore in Rythu Bharosa aid to farmers across 1.49 crore acres in just nine days, the government will organise a large-scale ‘Rythu Nestham’ event at 4 PM on Tuesday near the Rajiv Gandhi statue opposite the Secretariat. Around 2,000 farmers are expected to participate. Similar rallies and celebrations will be held at mandal and district levels, with participation from ministers, MLAs, and public representatives.

2. Telangana Thalli Statues in All Collectorates
The Cabinet approved the installation of Telangana Thalli statues in all district collectorates. These will be unveiled on December 9, aligning with Telangana Thalli Avatara Dinotsavam.

3. Approval for Southern Alignment of Regional Ring Road
The Cabinet approved the alignment proposal for the southern part of the Regional Ring Road (RRR), covering 201 km from Choutuppal to Sangareddy, as submitted by the Roads & Buildings Department.

4. Strong Opposition to AP’s Banakacharla Project
The Cabinet passed a resolution to oppose Andhra Pradesh’s Godavari-Banakacharla linkage project, citing potential harm to Telangana’s interests. The state will pursue legal and constitutional measures to block the project and utilise all available platforms for redressal.

5. Discussions on Bifurcation-Related Issues
It was decided to hold discussions between the two Telugu states at the official level to resolve pending issues under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

6. Submission of Data on Kaleshwaram Project to PC Ghosh Commission
The Cabinet deliberated on a letter from the PC Ghosh Commission and resolved to provide all available data on the Kaleshwaram project by June 30.

7. Approval of Telangana Sports Policy
The Cabinet approved the Telangana Sports Policy, which includes the formation of the Telangana Sports Hub Board of Governance and the Telangana Sports Development Fund (TSDF). Ten percent of the district-level Crucial Balance Fund (CBF) will be earmarked for sports development. State-level CM Cup winners will also be eligible under the sports quota reservation.

8. Telangana Vision 2047 Policy Draft Approved
The Cabinet gave its approval for the preparation of the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document, which aims to position the state as a major contributor to the national economy. The document will be unveiled on December 9.

9. Quarterly Cabinet Status Meetings Introduced
To enhance transparency and accountability, the Cabinet will now conduct a special ‘status report’ meeting every three months to review implementation of decisions. These meetings will include senior officials and departmental heads.

10. New Municipalities in Sangareddy District
The Cabinet approved the creation of Indresham and Jinnaram municipalities in Sangareddy district, along with the upgradation of Isnapur municipality. Additionally, approval was granted to fill 316 posts across departments in newly formed municipalities.

These decisions reflect the Telangana government’s focus on farmer-centric initiatives, infrastructure planning, and good governance.
