PODILI: Police have intensified their investigation into the violent incident that occurred during YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s “Rythu Porubata” rally in Podili on June 11, where a group of miscreants attacked women with stones and footwear.
As part of the inquiry, police have arrested nine individuals suspected to be involved in the assault. Authorities suspect the attack was premeditated. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nageswara Rao stated that Darshi MLA Buchepalli Shivaprasad Reddy made provocative remarks on social media ahead of the event, which may have contributed to the violence.
In response, police have issued a notice to the MLA, asking him to explain why action should not be taken against him for allegedly disregarding police instructions and inciting unrest. The investigation is ongoing.
