Amaravati: In a significant move on the occasion of Good Friday, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced a financial honorarium for Christian pastors across the state. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has approved a monthly honorarium of Rs 5,000 each for 8,427 pastors. The payments will be issued from May to November 2024, amounting toRs Rs 30 crore in total. Each eligible pastor will receive Rs 35,000 for the seven-month period.

In a separate development, Praja Shanti Party president K.A. Paul has once again made serious allegations regarding the death of Pastor Praveen. Speaking to the media in Vijayawada’s Gandhi Nagar on Thursday, Paul claimed to have substantial evidence suggesting that the pastor was murdered. He urged for an investigation by a sitting judge or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), alleging police failure in solving the case.

Paul questioned why the post-mortem report had not been released even after 22 days and reiterated that Praveen, in his 24-year service, had no history of alcohol consumption—refuting speculation surrounding the cause of death. He stated that the same claims had been presented before the High Court and demanded immediate action to uncover the truth.
