YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy encountered a major security lapse during his visit to Rapthadu in Anantapur district on Monday. As he arrived by helicopter, a large crowd of party supporters gathered near the landing site to welcome him.
Despite police efforts, the crowd surged past security barriers, reaching dangerously close to the helicopter. In the commotion, the aircraft’s windshield was reportedly damaged due to pressure from the crowd.
Citing safety concerns, the helicopter pilots declined to operate the aircraft under such conditions, prompting Jagan to continue his journey to Bengaluru by road, following their recommendation.

YSRCP leaders expressed strong criticism over the lack of adequate security arrangements at the site, accusing the local police of negligence. Some party members went a step further, alleging a conspiracy to harm Jagan and demanding a thorough investigation into the incident.
The incident has sparked political tension, with YSRCP calling for immediate accountability and improved security protocols for future high-level visits.
