London: The United Kingdom has announced an increase in visa fees across multiple categories, impacting Indian tourists, students, and business travelers. The revised charges will take effect from April 9.
The fee for a six-month visa has been raised from £115 to £127, reflecting a 10% increase. Long-term visitor visa fees have also been revised, with two-year, five-year, and ten-year visas now costing £475, £848, and £1,059, respectively.

Transit visa charges have also been increased, with the Direct Airside Transit Visa now costing £39, and the Land-side Transit Visa priced at £70. The Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) fee for visa-exempt nationals has risen by 60% to £16.
For primary applicants and their dependents, the visa fee has increased from £490 to £524. The same adjustment applies to child student visas. Additionally, short-term study visas for courses lasting six to eleven months have seen a 9% increase, now costing £214 instead of £200.
The UK government stated that the revised fees align with broader policy changes and will apply to all new applications from April 9 onward.
