AP Cabinet Approves Key Decisions on Power Subsidy, Education, and Infrastructure

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Chandrababu, has taken several key decisions in its latest meeting at the Secretariat.

The Cabinet approved free electricity for handloom workers, allowing up to 200 units for households and 500 units for looms. It also passed an amendment bill regulating teacher transfers and sanctioned the establishment of renewable energy plants in Anantapur and Sathya Sai districts.

Further, the Cabinet granted private university status to VVIIT in Namburu and endorsed the subcommittee’s recommendations on Amaravati land allotments. Additionally, it approved ₹37,072 crore worth of projects sanctioned by the CRDA. The Cabinet also reviewed the SC categorization issue and approved the report submitted by the Rajeev Ranjan Mishra Commission.

In a notable move, the YSR Tadigadapa Municipality has been renamed as Tadigadapa. The Cabinet also sanctioned the appointment of three photographers and videographers in the Chief Minister’s Office.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrababu outlined his economic vision, targeting a per capita income of Rs 55 lakh and a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047. Speaking in the Assembly, he acknowledged Telangana as the state with the highest per capita income and emphasized the need for India to achieve a $30 trillion GDP under the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative. He also assigned MLAs the responsibility of implementing the Constituency Vision Document and stressed that enhancing women’s workforce participation is critical for rapid development.
