The swearing-in ceremony of Tamil Nadu’s new Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief C. Joseph Vijay, popularly known as ‘Thalapathy’, marked the beginning of a new political chapter in the state, while also becoming a focal point for discussions on personal associations and social media narratives. The grand event was held on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, drawing widespread attention across political and entertainment circles.
Actress Trisha Krishnan emerged as a prominent presence at the ceremony. She arrived at the venue along with her mother, Hema, from her residence in Chennai. Dressed in a traditional blue silk saree with jasmine flowers adorning her hair, her entry into the stadium quickly gained traction on social media, with visuals widely circulated by TVK supporters and Vijay fans, making her one of the most discussed personalities at the event.
This is not the first instance of Trisha’s presence drawing attention in connection with Vijay’s political journey. She had earlier visited Vijay’s residence on the day election results were declared, when TVK secured a decisive victory. Although she avoided media interaction at the time, her gesture of acknowledging supporters with a ‘V’ sign from her vehicle had already sparked public and online discussions.
Over the past few years, Vijay and Trisha’s repeated appearances together, both in professional and private contexts, have fuelled speculation in media and social platforms regarding their association. While unverified reports have circulated online, neither party has issued any official statement addressing such claims. Their presence together at significant public moments has continued to draw attention and commentary.
Despite ongoing speculation around his personal life, Vijay’s political stature and mass appeal remain undiminished. At the ceremony, he arrived in a simple white shirt and veshti, with the venue resonating with chants from supporters. His strong fan base once again reflected his enduring popularity, which has defined both his film and political journey.
