Pune Realtor Murder Case — New Twist

A secret phone call between Sia and Chetan, made just half an hour before the murder, has now become the most critical piece of digital evidence in this case. In that call, they discussed luring Ketan to a deserted viewpoint on the fort where no tourists were present. Chetan instructed Sia to give him the signal only after confirming that no one else was around. Beginning three months before the crime, the two had been carefully deleting all calls, chats, and voice notes between them to avoid leaving a trail for police.

A major conspiracy to prevent Ketan from travelling abroad took place just days before the murder. Ketan and Sia were scheduled to travel to Bali together on June 6 for a pre-wedding shoot. However, Ketan’s passport mysteriously vanished at the last minute, forcing the trip to be cancelled. Police suspect there was an elaborate scheme behind this disappearance — that it was part of a plan to stop Ketan from going to Bali and kill him here instead.

A statement given by the cab driver who ferried Ketan and Sia to the airport regarding this missing passport has now taken the case in a new direction. The driver told police that Sia’s brother Sahil forcibly made her sit in the car on the way to Mumbai airport. He added that when the car stopped for tea midway, Sia asked him to open the boot of the car, and he noticed her taking something out of her purse at that moment.

Just two minutes after they got out at the airport, the driver received a call saying they had left a small bag behind in the car. Shortly after he returned and handed over the bag, he got another call saying Ketan’s passport was missing. They even had the driver check the car on a video call. When it still couldn’t be found, Sia’s brother Sahil and Ketan came and searched the car themselves, but to no avail — forcing them to turn back from the airport.

Ketan’s father Vishal Agarwal also expressed strong suspicion about the passport’s disappearance. He said that before leaving for the airport, everyone had checked their passports and documents and secured them together in one purse. He said he couldn’t understand how only Ketan’s passport went missing despite such care, and directly accused Sia of being behind it.

Sia’s behaviour on the day of the murder changed visibly the moment some women police officers spoke up. On the morning of June 18 around 10:30 AM, Ketan fell from the hill, and rescue teams retrieved his body by afternoon. When a woman police officer present at the scene said it seemed Ketan might still have some life in him and he should be rushed to hospital immediately, the colour drained from Sia’s face. Ketan’s father noted that her fear of being exposed — in case Ketan survived — was plainly visible on her face.

Ketan’s sister first grew suspicious when Sia’s behaviour after returning home following the incident seemed theatrical. When pressed with questions — what exactly happened at the fort, which foot did Ketan slip on, where were you sitting — Sia said nothing. Her crying appeared very artificial, more like a performance. Even the next day, when family members questioned her on the same matter, she remained silent. The arrival of her aunt, who had arranged the match, and her whisking Sia away from there only deepened the suspicions further.

Vishal Agarwal’s family, now completely suspicious of the woman they had welcomed like a daughter-in-law, carefully reviewed the CCTV footage from the scene. The videos clearly showed Sia walking away completely calmly, without shedding a single tear, even as her would-be husband fell to his death right before her eyes. This shattered whatever trust the family had left in her, and when they filed a police complaint, the full truth began to unravel.

Police recently took Sia’s brother Sahil into custody for questioning, during which he admitted that Sia had been in an extremely close relationship with the accused Chetan for several years. Sahil revealed that the two had got acquainted during local cricket matches. It also emerged that even before the engagement, Sia had gone on a trip to Udaipur with friends — and Chetan was among them. Police have now arrested the prime accused Chetan and seized the scooter, hoodie, and headphones used in the murder, intensifying the further investigation.
