A key political development has unfolded in Tamil Nadu as Governor has reportedly granted permission for the formation of a government led by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay, bringing an end to days of political suspense in the state. Earlier today at 11 AM, Vijay met the Governor and informed him that he has the required numerical strength to form the government and assured that he would prove his majority in the Assembly, following which the Governor is said to have given the green signal for government formation.
Vijay, who is being seen as one of the most popular leaders in Tamil Nadu alongside political stalwarts like Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa, is now set to assume the office of Chief Minister. While an official announcement regarding the swearing-in ceremony is yet to be made, latest updates suggest that Vijay may take oath as Chief Minister later this evening, marking a major turning point in the state’s political landscape.
