Kurnool: The Kurnool JFMC Court has dismissed a petition filed by the police seeking custody of actor and writer Posani Krishna Murali. The petition was submitted by Adoni police on March 6, requesting permission to interrogate him. After reserving the verdict on March 7, the magistrate dismissed the petition today.
Bail Status and Legal Developments
Meanwhile, the court has reserved its decision on Posani’s bail plea. In a separate case registered at Obulavaripalli police station in Annamayya district, the Kadapa Mobile Court granted him bail.
Posani was arrested on February 28 in connection with a case registered on February 24 over his alleged derogatory remarks against Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh. On February 29, he was produced before the Railway Koduru Court, which remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.
Legal Defense and High Court Petition
Obulavaripalli police had sought custody earlier this week, but YSRCP Legal Team advocate Raproli Srinivasa Rao represented Posani in court. Separately, the Narasaraopet Court magistrate granted him bail today.
Additionally, Posani faces another case at Bhavanipuram police station in Vijayawada, filed three months ago by Jana Sena leaders over alleged remarks against Pawan Kalyan. In response, he was produced before the Vijayawada Court on a PT warrant. He has now approached the High Court with a quash petition, seeking dismissal of all cases against him.
Multiple Cases and Legal Relief
A total of 16 cases have been registered against Posani so far. He has secured relief in five cases and has filed a quash petition for cases registered in Palakonda, Bhavanipuram, Paderu, Visakhapatnam, and Pattabhipuram.
