Andhra Pradesh Cabinet Meeting: CM Chandrababu Directs Focus on Key Development Projects

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet convened on December 3 (Tuesday) at 11 AM under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chandrababu at the AP Secretariat in Amaravati. During the meeting, CM Chandrababu expressed dissatisfaction over delays in implementing the Jal Jeevan Mission, stating that the project was not progressing beyond the DPR stage. He questioned officials about the lag and emphasized the need for better execution.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan criticized the state’s underutilization of the mission, highlighting concerns raised in Delhi. Minister Nara Lokesh suggested adopting a mission-mode approach to accelerate the benefits of the scheme for the public. CM Chandrababu instructed officials to focus on making welfare schemes more accessible and efficient.

Key decisions made during the meeting included the completion of drinking water projects in Pulivendula, Uddanam, and Dhone. The Cabinet approved 10 key proposals, including discussions on Kakinada Port’s development. As the coalition government completes six months in office, CM Chandrababu called for a detailed progress report from officials, emphasizing transparency in departmental activities. He also expressed satisfaction with efforts to curb the liquor and sand mafias.

Key Cabinet Approvals:
1. Implementation of PM Awas Yojana Tribal Housing Scheme for 2024–29.
2. Integrated Tourism Policy for 2024–29.
3. Amendments to the 2024–29 Sports Policy.
4. Approval for amendments to the Ayurveda and Homeopathy Practitioner Registration Act.
5. Declaration of December 15 as Martyrdom Remembrance Day to honor Potti Sriramulu.
6. Approval of the IT Global Capability Centers Policy 4.0.
7. Adoption of the AP Textiles and Garment Policy.
8. Implementation of the AP Maritime Policy.

The meeting underscored the government’s commitment to development and transparency, with a focus on timely implementation of welfare schemes and infrastructure projects.
