Tirupati: Allegations of adulterated ghee used in the preparation of laddus at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam have sparked widespread concern across the nation. Following the identification of AR Dairy as the supplier of the ghee, a case has been filed against the company.
The Commercial Taxes Department has revealed key insights into the supply chain of the ghee in question. It was disclosed that Vaishnavi Dairy, which supplied ghee to AR Dairy, sourced it from Bholebaba Organic Dairy Milk Private Limited, located in Uttarakhand.
According to a confidential report submitted to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, Vaishnavi Dairy procured millions of kilograms of ghee from Bholebaba Organic Dairy during June and July. This ghee was then delivered to TTD in five tankers across eight trips, with three trips supplying directly to TTD before reaching AR Dairy.
The report outlines the routes taken by the tankers, detailing which toll plazas were crossed and the tankers’ destinations. It concludes that AR Dairy engaged in fraudulent practices concerning the ghee supply.
