MLC Kavitha has fallen ill once again while in Tihar Jail, reportedly suffering from a viral fever. She is currently receiving treatment from jail staff at AIIMS in Delhi. Former ministers KT Rama Rao and Harish Rao are expected to visit Delhi tomorrow to meet with MLC Kavitha.
Kavitha, who was arrested on March 15 in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case, has been lodged in Tihar Jail for the past five months. Recently, she faced disappointment as the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on her plea for bail in the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) cases, citing her ill health.
The CBI had filed a counter-petition opposing Kavitha’s bail, while the ED requested additional time to file their counter. The Supreme Court has granted the ED time until Thursday to submit their counter and has scheduled the next hearing for May 27.
