Vijayawada: A tragic incident occurred in Brindavan Colony, Vijayawada, where a young man fatally stabbed the father of the woman he loved. The incident happened around 9 PM on Thursday. According to the reports, the accused identified as Shiva Manikanta, a local physical education teacher(P.E.T), attacked Ramachandra Prasad, a grocery shop owner, as he was returning home with his daughter. Manikanta had been waiting near Prasad’s shop, collided his vehicle with theirs, causing them to fall, and then attacked Prasad with a knife before fleeing.
It is learnt that the victim’s daughter, a second-year engineering student, had been in a four-year relationship with Manikanta, which began on Instagram. Recently, Prasad discovered the relationship and reprimanded Manikanta. This led the young woman to distance herself and reject his marriage proposal. Manikanta’s anger grew, especially after an incident that led his mother to leave their home.
Severely injured, Prasad was rushed to a hospital by locals but succumbed to his injuries. Krishna Lanka police registered a case and investigation is underway.
