A powerful B-52 bomber of the United States Air Force crashed in Southern California, killing all eight crew members on board. The aircraft took off from Edwards Air Force Base but lost control shortly after takeoff due to technical reasons and plunged to the ground, completely destroying the aircraft.
Rescue teams, defence personnel, and officials rushed to the crash site immediately after receiving information. Despite determined efforts to extinguish the flames and save the crew, all attempts proved unsuccessful.
