Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stated that the government has taken the issue seriously, noting that similar allegations had surfaced in NEET 2024 as well. He said that due to repeated paper leak incidents, a major reform has been decided and from next year onwards, NEET will be conducted in online mode to enhance transparency and security in the examination process.

The minister also confirmed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently investigating the NEET paper leak case related to the May 3 examination. He assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for compromising the examination system and playing with the future of students.

For the upcoming re-test scheduled on June 21, candidates will be allowed a one-week window to choose their preferred examination centres. The NTA will release admit cards on June 14, and students will not be required to pay any additional fee for appearing in the re-examination.

The government stated that the decision to cancel and re-conduct the exam was taken in the interest of lakhs of students. Authorities have also urged candidates not to believe misinformation circulating on social media and assured that stringent measures will be implemented to ensure a fair and secure examination process this time.
