The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the revised schedule for the NEET UG 2026 examination after the earlier test was cancelled. The agency confirmed that the re-exam will be held on June 21, Sunday, and the information was officially shared through its X account. Students have been advised to follow only official communication for all updates related to the examination process.
The NTA also stated that candidates appearing for the re-examination need not submit a fresh application or pay any additional fee. Details regarding hall tickets and other examination-related information will be released shortly through official channels. The agency has urged students to stay updated through verified sources only.
The NEET UG examination, conducted on May 3, was held for admissions into MBBS, BDS and other medical courses across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Following the cancellation decision, nearly 23 lakh candidates who had registered for the exam will now have to appear for the rescheduled test on the new date announced by the authorities.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is continuing its probe into the alleged question paper leak case. Several accused have already been arrested. Investigations suggest the leak may have originated from Nashik in Maharashtra and spread to multiple states, including Rajasthan, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Kerala, with reports alleging that access to the paper was sold for up to ₹5 lakh.
