Iran Issues Fresh Warning to US Over Strait of Hormuz

Tensions in West Asia have escalated once again, with Iran issuing a fresh warning to the United States over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route that remains at the centre of regional security concerns.

Mohsen Rezaei, a senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, stated that Tehran would not tolerate any attempt by the United States to establish control over the waterway, warning that Iranian missile forces are capable of highly precise strikes and claiming that US naval vessels could be sunk in an initial wave of attacks if hostilities break out.

He also criticised remarks linked to Donald Trump suggesting a protective role in the region, asserting that such a stance was unacceptable and warning that American forces stationed in West Asia would be at risk in the event of escalation, amid already heightened geopolitical tensions.

Referring to reports of possible US ground operations against Iran, Rezaei further warned that American troops entering Iranian territory would be taken hostage, adding that their release would require substantial payments, while asserting that US military strategies would ultimately fail against Iran’s defence capabilities.
