A deadly shooting at a popular Austin bar in Texas early Sunday morning left three people dead and 14 others injured. The incident occurred at Buford’s, a well-known beer garden near the city’s entertainment hub on 6th Street. Police received reports of gunfire at the venue and rushed to the scene immediately.
Authorities said the shooting happened around 2:00 a.m. on March 1, 2026, as the bar was closing. A suspect reportedly fired recklessly, causing panic among patrons. When police arrived, the individual fired at responding officers, prompting them to return fire, resulting in the suspect’s death. Officials confirmed that one of the three fatalities was the shooter.
Fourteen people sustained injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment, with three reported to be in critical condition. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased or injured, citing ongoing investigations.
