Union Minister Kiran Rijiju visited his constituency in Arunachal West, near the China border, amid the controversy surrounding former Army Chief Naravane’s unpublished book. The book had triggered allegations by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi against the central government, prompting Rijiju’s remarks and tour near the sensitive border area.

Speaking on the occasion, Rijiju criticized Rahul Gandhi for showing little interest in the smooth functioning of Parliament. He claimed that some NGOs had informed Gandhi that better days were coming for the Congress party, which is why he repeatedly disrupts parliamentary proceedings. The minister emphasized that national security should not be used for political purposes.

Rijiju also addressed the Naravane book issue, stating there was no reason to comment on an unpublished work. However, he noted that since Rahul Gandhi spoke on matters related to national security, his statements should be taken seriously and not politicized.

The minister further remarked that Gandhi lacks sufficient knowledge of border matters, which explains his statements. He suggested that Gandhi should familiarize himself with the border situation to understand the issues accurately and avoid misusing sensitive topics for political gain.
