Ufa, Russia: A violent knife attack at the student hostel of the State Medical University in Ufa, Bashkortostan, left four Indian students seriously injured. Reports indicate that two police officers were also attacked while attempting to control the assailant, who reportedly also inflicted injuries on himself during the incident.
The attacker reportedly stormed the hostel and targeted students indiscriminately. Police intervened promptly, and both the victims and the assailant were taken to a hospital for treatment. The situation has been brought under control, and the injured are receiving medical attention.
The Indian Embassy in Russia confirmed that four Indian nationals were among those injured and stated that it is in constant contact with local authorities. Consulate officials visited the university to provide assistance and ensure the affected students receive all necessary support.
