Vijay Deverakonda is set to star in the upcoming film Ranabaali, directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The recently released title glimpses went viral on social media, with viewers praising the visuals. However, some netizens speculated that the footage was created using AI (Artificial Intelligence).
Addressing the speculation, director Rahul Sankrityan clarified that no AI was used in producing the glimpses. He stated that every frame was painstakingly crafted by the team over several months, highlighting the immense effort involved. Fans have since lauded the director and his team for their dedication.
Released on the occasion of Republic Day, the glimpses depict the harsh conditions under British rule in the 19th century and the plundering of India’s wealth, culminating in a powerful introduction of Vijay Deverakonda as Ranabali. Sharing the first-look poster, Vijay commented, “The British called him a savage… I say no. He is our savage,” further increasing audience interest.
Based on real historical events between 1854 and 1878, Ranabaali is being produced on a pan-India scale by Mythri Movie Makers with a massive budget. Rashmika Mandanna stars opposite Vijay as Jayamma, while Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, known for The Mummy series, plays the antagonist. The music is composed by the acclaimed duo Ajay–Atul.
This marks Vijay Deverakonda’s third collaboration with Mythri Movie Makers after Dear Comrade and Khushi. Ranabali is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on September 11, 2026, with fans already setting high expectations for the film.
