Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS Working President KTR has received a major setback as the Governor has officially granted permission to investigate him in the Formula-E car race case. The approval allows the ACB to proceed with a probe into alleged misuse of funds, and a charge sheet against KTR is expected to be filed soon.
KTR has been designated as A-1 in the case, while senior IAS officer Aravind Kumar is listed as A-2. KTR has already appeared before the ACB four times, with hundreds of documents, emails, electronic evidence, and other materials collected to assess his role. The investigation, conducted over nine months, was carried out meticulously from all angles.

The ACB had requested the Governor’s permission to prosecute KTR on September 9, and approval was granted approximately ten weeks later. Officials have also approached the central DOPT regarding further action against Aravind Kumar. Ahead of filing the charge sheet, the ACB may summon KTR or other key individuals once more.
The Governor’s approval has triggered widespread discussions in political and administrative circles. The forthcoming charge sheet is expected to mark a significant turn in the ongoing investigation.
