A major tragedy struck Jammu and Kashmir after a powerful explosion rocked the Naugam Police Station, killing seven people and leaving 30 others seriously injured. Authorities cautioned that the death toll may rise as several victims remain in critical condition. The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the Police Control Room in Srinagar for further procedures.
Rescue operations continued late into the night, with teams searching through debris spread across a 300-foot radius. The intensity of the blast was such that body parts were found at considerable distances from the site. The explosion triggered massive flames and thick smoke, engulfing the surrounding area and hampering immediate rescue efforts.
