Intelligence agencies have confirmed that the Delhi terror attack has direct links to the family of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar. Investigators found that Shaheen, arrested in connection with the case, had been in regular contact with Afeera Bibi, the wife of Jaish commander and Pulwama mastermind Umar Farooq. Officials say this connection strengthens earlier suspicions of Jaish’s deep involvement in orchestrating the Delhi blast.
Afeera Bibi, the widow of Umar Farooq—Masood Azhar’s nephew and the key conspirator behind the 2019 Pulwama attack—has emerged as an influential figure in the outfit’s newly created women’s wing, Jamaat-ul-Mominat. She reportedly joined the wing’s advisory council just days before the Delhi blast and is believed to be closely working with Masood Azhar’s sister, Sadia Azhar. Intelligence reports suggest that the female wing has become an important channel for recruitment and indoctrination following the loss of key operatives during Operation Sindhoor, which destroyed a major JeM base in Pakistan.
Masood Azhar's daughter-in-law, Afira Bibi (Pulwama attack mastermind's wife), asked Dr. Shaheen to form a women's wing of Jaish-e-Mohammed in India, radicalize women in India. And recruit in women's group, Jammat ul Mominat. Jaish intended to make Dr. Shaheen its head in India. pic.twitter.com/XTo6rwpbJi

According to police interrogation, Shaheen had been assigned significant responsibilities within this women-led structure. She is accused of manipulating and radicalising women, and furthering the organisation’s expansion inside India. Investigators say that Shaheen, along with associates Dr. Muzammil and Adil, had been preparing for potential terror strikes across the country for nearly two years and had collected explosives, including ammonium nitrate, during this period. Authorities believe this network was part of a broader strategy to rebuild Jaish-e-Mohammed’s operational strength.
