Jubilee Hills By-Election: AI Survey Predicts Tight Contest Between Congress and BRS

The Jubilee Hills by-election in Telangana has become a high-stakes political battle, serving as a litmus test for both the ruling and opposition parties. Predicting the winner has been challenging, prompting Gama AI to conduct, for the first time, an AI-based survey to analyze voter sentiment and party strengths division-wise. Over 10 days, the survey collected opinions from 6,532 respondents across 92 areas, focusing not just on who voters would support, but why. The data was meticulously analyzed to assess candidate strengths, weaknesses, and influence on voters.

The AI survey indicates a very narrow gap between Congress and BRS, with past assembly elections recording less than 50% voter turnout—a trend expected to continue this time. While voters in Jubilee Hills appear slightly inclined toward the ruling party, Congress candidate Naveen Yadav is seen as having a chance of winning. Experts note that higher turnout could negatively affect Congress, while turnout above 50% may increase BRS’s chances. The survey projects that if most eligible voters exercise their franchise on November 11, a majority could lean toward BRS.

According to the survey, the vote share stands at Congress 48.50%, BRS 45.27%, and BJP 6.23%. Jubilee Hills consists of seven divisions: Shakepeta, Yusufguda, Somajiguda, Vengal Rao Nagar, Erragadda, Rehmatnagar, and Borabanda. BJP influence is negligible across all divisions. Minority voters largely favor Congress, while BRS shows strength in slum areas.

Shakepeta: Clear Congress dominance; nearly 10% of voters favor Naveen Yadav.

Yusufguda: Highly competitive between BRS and Congress; Naveen Yadav’s residence is here. Despite being a local, BRS poses strong competition.

Somajiguda: Congress and BRS vote shares are nearly equal, with BJP securing around 10% here.

Vengal Rao Nagar: Predominantly AP settlers; BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha receives support from voters identifying with her community.

Erragadda: Strong Congress support; voters prioritize candidates addressing local issues.

Borabanda: Minority votes consolidate toward Congress, while BRS retains strong cadre support; past development works and scrutiny of government performance influence voter preferences.

The survey highlights nuanced voter behavior across divisions, reflecting a closely contested by-election with turnout likely to be decisive.
