Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked global debate with his latest remarks on America’s nuclear strength. Speaking at the American Business Forum in Miami, Trump claimed that the United States possesses a larger stockpile of nuclear weapons than Russia and China combined. “They say Russia and China have huge nuclear arsenals, but we have far more. With our nuclear weapons, we can destroy this world 150 times,” he stated. Trump described nuclear disarmament as a great concept but emphasized that the U.S. must always be prepared to defend itself.
His comments come amid heightened tensions following America’s decision to resume nuclear weapons testing after nearly three decades. Defending the move, Trump said he had discussed the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. He alleged that several countries, including Russia, China, North Korea, and Pakistan, continue to conduct nuclear tests secretly while the U.S. remains transparent. “We have been patient long enough. If others continue testing, we will not remain silent anymore,” Trump declared.
In a post on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’, Trump further explained that the earlier decision to halt nuclear testing was aimed at reducing global risk. However, he said the geopolitical environment had changed drastically. “Countries like Russia and China are rapidly expanding their nuclear capabilities. Within five years, they may match the U.S. in power. It’s time for America to restart testing,” he said. Trump confirmed that preparations are underway for the tests but declined to reveal specific details about their timing or location.
