Union Minister and Karimnagar BJP MP Bandi Sanjay sparked controversy with his remarks during an election campaign in Jubilee Hills on Thursday evening. Addressing a rally in Borabanda Division in support of the BJP candidate, Sanjay criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Congress candidate Naveen Yadav for wearing Muslim caps during their campaign, alleging they did so merely to seek votes. He pointed out that even MIM leaders, including Azharuddin, did not wear the cap and asserted that while he stands for protecting Hindu dharma, he does not disrespect other religions. Sanjay stated that if a day ever came when he had to wear such a cap, he would rather cut off his head.

Questioning the Congress party’s alleged ties with AIMIM, Sanjay challenged whether Minister Azharuddin could chant the Ganesh mantra or whether Owaisi’s associates would dare visit the Bhagyalakshmi temple and sing devotional songs. He accused the Congress and MIM of attempting to turn Telangana into an Islamic state and urged Hindus to unite and act as a “single vote bank” to prevent it. Calling on Jubilee Hills voters to demonstrate their strength by ensuring a massive victory for the BJP candidate, Sanjay’s comments quickly went viral on social media, igniting fresh political debate in the state.
