In a tragic incident, eight people were killed and 43 others sustained serious injuries when a container rammed into a tractor carrying devotees in Uttar Pradesh. The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday while the tractor was transporting devotees from Kasganj to Gogamedi in Rajasthan. The collision took place near Ghatal village under the Bulandshahr police station limits, leaving the victims trapped and causing chaos in the area.
Police personnel rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information and launched rescue operations. The injured were shifted to Kailash Hospital in Khurja, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Hospital sources said several of the injured remain in critical condition.
Authorities have begun investigating the circumstances leading to the accident. Initial reports suggest that overspeeding could have been a factor, though an official confirmation is awaited. Meanwhile, local residents and officials have expressed deep grief over the loss of lives, with arrangements being made to extend assistance to the victims’ families.
