Sonu personally reached out to Venkat’s wife over the phone and offered condolences, assuring the family of continued support. He also provided ₹1 lakh in immediate financial aid and promised to stand by them in any future difficulties. Speaking from abroad, Sonu stated that he would visit the family upon his return to India.
Social media users have lauded Sonu Sood’s gesture, especially in light of criticism aimed at the Telugu film industry for its silence. Despite Venkat’s month-long struggle for financial assistance—required for a kidney operation estimated at ₹50 lakh—not a single major Tollywood actor, director, or producer reportedly visited the family or attended his funeral. While some support came from Gabbar Singh gang members, actor Vishwak Sen, and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan (who donated ₹2 lakh), netizens expressed disappointment over the overall lack of response. Fish Venkat passed away on July 18.
