Pune: A sensational twist has emerged in the alleged sexual assault case involving a 22-year-old IT professional in Pune. What was initially reported as an attack by a delivery agent has now been revealed to be false. Police investigations have confirmed that the accused is actually the woman’s boyfriend.
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar stated that the woman, residing in a flat in Kondhwa, had filed a complaint claiming an unidentified courier agent threw chemicals on her and assaulted her. However, investigations revealed that the accused was not a delivery agent, and the woman had fabricated the entire story due to a personal dispute.
Further questioning exposed startling details. The two individuals belong to the same community and have known each other for nearly two years. A selfie presented by the complainant was actually taken by her using her own phone, and the photo was edited. No chemicals were thrown on her, and a threatening message she showed was typed by herself.
Police disclosed that her mental condition appears unstable. Ten police teams were deployed to trace the supposed attacker, eventually uncovering the truth. The woman later admitted during questioning that her friend forced her into sexual activity, which she did not consent to that day. Out of anger, she falsely accused him of being a delivery boy and committing rape.
Authorities also confirmed that the warning quote in the selfie—allegedly from the attacker—was written by the woman herself. The case is still under investigation.
