Hyderabad: The suspense over the new Telangana BJP president has ended, with former MLC N. Ramachander Rao set to assume the role. The BJP high command has directed him to file his nomination. With no other contenders, his appointment is now confirmed.
The party leadership had been engaged in intense deliberations over the past few weeks to finalize the new state chief. Several names were in consideration, including MPs Eatala Rajender, Dharmapuri Arvind, and former MLC Ramachander Rao. While initial speculation suggested the choice might fall on Eatala or Arvind, sources reveal that senior leaders and RSS functionaries recommended Ramachander Rao, leading to the high command’s final decision.
Ramachander Rao has a long-standing association with the RSS and began his political journey with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). His selection comes at a crucial time, with Telangana set to hold Panchayat elections in the coming weeks.
In a parallel development, the BJP has also finalized PVN Madhav as the new party president for Andhra Pradesh. He is expected to file his nomination later today.
