Ankara: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck Turkey’s Konya province on Thursday afternoon, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). The tremor occurred at approximately 3:46 PM local time, with the epicenter located about 14 kilometers northeast of Kulu.

Tremors were also reported in Ankara, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently visiting. No immediate reports of casualties or property damage have been received. Authorities are monitoring the situation and continuing assessments.

The quake comes shortly after a 6.1 magnitude earthquake was reported near Greece earlier this week. That seismic event, confirmed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), was felt across several countries including Egypt, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, and Jordan.
