A tragic aircraft accident in South Sudan has claimed the lives of 14 people near the capital city, Juba, in one of the latest aviation disasters in the region. Authorities confirmed that the aircraft caught fire immediately after the crash, leaving the bodies severely burnt and unidentifiable.

According to preliminary reports, the ill-fated flight was operating from the Yei region to Juba when it went down mid-journey. The aircraft reportedly crashed under circumstances that are still being investigated, with officials suspecting that adverse weather conditions may have played a role in the incident.

Rescue and emergency response teams swiftly reached the crash site and launched recovery operations. Officials confirmed that all 13 passengers on board, along with the pilot, died in the accident, bringing the total death toll to 14.

Authorities further stated that the victims included 12 South Sudanese nationals and two Kenyan citizens. The intense fire that broke out following the crash destroyed much of the wreckage, complicating identification efforts and initial forensic assessment.

The incident has once again raised concerns over aviation safety standards in South Sudan, where similar accidents have been reported in recent years. A detailed investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the crash.
